Fanwood Man Resists Arrest, Collared for Drug Possesssion

Edward Byron III was arrested for possession of marijuana in LaGrande Park. Other Police news also includes, theft, tire slashing, and car burglary.

Theft

A South Avenue business reported that sometime between 7:30 p.m. on May 29, and 11:30 a.m. on May 31, $450.00 of merchandise was stolen.

A Paterson Road resident reported that a several items totaling $9,650 were stolen from their home. The resident stated that the theft occurred sometime between 9 a.m. on June 5, and 9 p.m. on June 6.

Criminal Mischief 

Sometime between 9 p.m. on June 12, and 8 a.m. on June 13, an act of criminal mischief occurred outside a Coriell Avenue home. The resident reported that an unknown suspect slashed the tires on two of their vehicles. The damage to the two vehicles totaled $1,800.

Burglary

A Mary Lane resident reported that sometime between 8 p.m. on June 16 and 8 p.m. on June 17, an unknown person entered his unlocked parked vehicle and removed a GPS and some CDs. The total value of the stolen merchandise is $155.

A Terrill Road resident reported that sometime between 7 p.m. on June 16 at 10:15 a.m. on June 17, an unknown person entered her unlocked parked vehicle and removed an iPod and other items valued at $125.

Arrests 

Edward Byron III, 21, of Fanwood was arrested at 11 p.m., on June 13, for possession of marijuana. Police encountered the defendant while investigating a suspicious vehicle parked in LaGrande Park. When the Officer approached the vehicle he could smell the odor of burnt marijuana. The Officer spoke with the driver and he was arrested for possession of marijuana and resisting arrest. He was released pending his court hearing.

Jamil Willis 24, of, Newark was arrested at 1:20 p.m. on June 14, for an active warrant out of South Orange. The Officer stopped Willis for a motor vehicle violation on South Avenue and Stagard Place and discovered the warrant. Willis was arrested, processed and released by South Orange municipal court.

Alfarad Inzar, 24, of Newark was arrested at 1:50 a.m. on June 15, for an active warrant out of Warren. The Officer stopped Inzar for a motor vehicle violation at East 7th Street and Terrill Road and discovered the warrant. Inzar was arrested, processed and turned over to Warren Police.

Angela McCloud, 42, of Linden, was arrested at 3:42 p.m., on June 13 for an active warrant out of Roselle. Police stopped McCloud for a motor vehicle violation on South Avenue and discovered the warrant. McCloud was arrested, processed and released by Roselle Municipal Court. Sonja McCloud-Williams, 44, of Plainfield, the passenger in the vehicle was also arrested for an active warrant out of Linden. She was turned over to Linden Police.
