Fanwood PD Arrest Local Resident for Drunk Driving

Westfield resident Kyle Harvin was charged with a DWI. Fanwood Police also investigate a stolen car, landscaping lights.

Stolen Vehicle 

A South Avenue business reported that sometime between May 27 and May 28, a rental car was not returned. The vehicle was entered as a stolen vehicle. The vehicle is described as a 2004 Ford Taurus, color Blue with N.J. license plate ZFK-66A.

A Tillotson Road resident reported that sometime between May 27 and May 28, landscaping lights valued at ten dollars were stolen from the front of her yard.

Kyle Harvin, 35, of Westfield, was arrested at 9:39 p.m. on May 27, for driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit a breath sample. The Officer stopped Harvin for a motor vehicle violation at Westfield Road and Sun Valley Way for a motor vehicle violation. While the Officer was speaking to the Harvin, he detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. After refusing to submit a breath sample, Harvin was arrested and transported to headquarters where after further investigation, he was charged and released to a responsible person pending his court hearing.

Ebony Braswell, 36, of Hillside, was arrested at 2:01 p.m. on May 30, for an active warrant out of Garwood. The Officer stopped Braswell for a motor vehicle violation on Midway and Farley Avenue and discovered the warrant. Braswell was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.

Rashan McCowen, 34, of Newark, was arrested at 4:31 p.m. on May 30, for an active warrant out of Newark. Police discovered the warrant while conducting a field investigation on Martine Avenue. McCowen was arrested, processed and released by Newark Municipal Court.

John Wiggins, 33, of Plainfield, was arrested at 8 a.m. on June 1, for an active warrant out of Scotch Plains. The Officer stopped Wiggins for a motor vehicle violation on East 7th Street and Terrill Road and discovered the warrant. Wiggins was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.

Thomas White, 23, of Saddle Brook, was arrested at 4:02 a.m. on June 4, for an active warrant out of Westfield. The Officer stopped White for a motor vehicle violation at Midway Avenue and Terrill Road and discovered the warrant. White was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.

Philip Wharton, 46, of Bridgewater, was arrested at 7:55 a.m. on May 22, for an active warrant out of Clinton. The Officer stopped Wharton for a motor vehicle violation at Midway Avenue and Tillotson Road and discovered the warrant. Wharton was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.

Rasheida Knight, 29, of Edison was arrested at 9:27 a.m. for an active warrant out of Chatham. The Officer stopped Knight for a motor vehicle violation at South and Princeton Avenue and discovered the warrant. Knight was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.

Sean Struss, 25, of Watchung, was arrested at 11:26 a.m. on May 24, for an active warrant out of Scotch Plains. The Officer stopped Struss for a motor vehicle violation at Martine and Portland Avenue and discovered the warrant. Struss was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. 

Willard Harris, 56, of Linden, was arrested at 8:59 p.m., on May 28, for an active warrant out of Scotch Plains. The Officer stopped Harris for a motor vehicle violation at East Second Street and Terrill Road and discovered the warrant. Harris was arrested, processed, and turned over to Scotch Plains Police.
