Fanwood PD Busts Car Thief

Fanwood police nab a car thief transporting drug paraphernalia. Other arrests include a DWI and active warrants.

 

Manuel Vera, 48, of Edison was arrested at 12:51 a.m. on March 10, at South Avenue and Terrill Road for driving while intoxicated. After stopping Vera for a motor vehicle violation, the Officer detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from inside of the vehicle. Vera was asked to step out of the vehicle to perform several sobriety tests, which he was unable to perform. He was arrested, processed and turned over to a responsible party.

Deborah Dozier, 49, year of Elizabeth, was arrested at 10:45 a.m. on March 10, at South and Hetfleid Avenue.  The Officer stopped Dozier after identifying the driver’s vehicle was stolen out of Newark. Dozier was placed under arrest, processed and transported to the Union County Jail. He was charged with receiving stolen property, volunteering false information to an Officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and numerous outstanding warrants.

Kelly Sullivan, 40, of Plainfield was arrested at 3:06 p.m. on March 7, at South Avenue for an active warrant out of Fanwood. The Officer stopped Sullivan for a motor vehicle violation and discovered the warrant. Sullivan was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.

Michael Edghill, 24, of Plainfield, was arrested at 5:46 p.m. on March 10, at LaGrande Avenue and Brohm Place for an active warrant out of Union. The Officer stopped Edghill for a motor vehicle violation and discovered the warrant. Edghill was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.

Ricci Riley, 24, of Plainfield, was arrested at 1:41 p.m. on March 11, at Terrill Road and East Front Street. The Officer stopped Riley for a motor vehicle violation and discovered an active warrant out of Scotch Plains. Riley was arrested, processed and turned over to Scotch Plains Police Department.
