Fanwood Police Arrest Plainfield Youth for DWI After Catching Him Asleep Behind the Wheel

Officer on route patrol noticed a vehicle at the intersection of Midway Ave. & Terrill Rd. running but the Officer could not see anyone in the driver seat.

Upon further inspection by the Officer he observed the driver slouched down in the seat sleeping. The Officer made several attempts to wake the driver. When the driver finally woke up the Officer made attempts to speak with him but was unable too.
The driver was arrested, processed, charged with Driving While Intoxicated and turned over to a responsible person. Defendant is a Eugene Claritt, 21, from Plainfield.
