Routine Traffic Stops Lead to Arrests
Two arrests top the list of recent criminal activity reported Fanwood Police Department.
Active Warrants
Alexander Branch the third, 54, of Plainfield was arrested on November 23 at 9:51 a.m. on LaGrande Avenue for a motor vehicle violation. After running the defendant’s license through the system, Police found an active warrant out of East Orange. Branch was arrested, processed and transferred to the East Orange Police Department.
Ivan Lugo, 34, of Elizabeth was arrested on November 23, at 2:55 p.m. on South Avenue. Police stopped Lugo’s vehicle for a motor vehicle violation. After running a check on the defendant’s license, Police found an active warrant out of Elizabeth. Lugo was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.

Theft
On November 26 a theft was reported by a resident on the 40th block of Arlene Court. The resident reported that sometime between 5:21 and 7:21 p.m., an unknown person entered her unlocked vehicle and took a GPS and jewelry valued 1,140 dollars.

Criminal Mischief
A resident who resides on the 30th block of Poplar Place reported that an act of criminal mischief. Sometime between 12 p.m. on November 26 and 5 p.m. on November 27, an unknown person cut several strings of Christmas lights on the property.
