Fanwood Police Blotter

Active warrants leading to arrests and local thefts top the most recent list of police activity.

Arrests

Alexander Branch, 54, of Plainfield, was arrested on November 23 at 9:51 a.m. on LaGrande Avenue. The Officer stopped Branch for a motor vehicle violation and discovered an active warrant out of East Orange. The defendant was arrested, processed, and turned over to the East Orange Police Department.

Ivan Lugo, 34, of Elizabeth, was arrested on November 23 at 2:55 a.m. on South Avenue. The Officer stopped Lugo for a motor vehicle violation and discovered an active warrant out of Elizabeth. The defendant was arrested, processed, posted bail and released.

Criminal Mischief

On November 25 a resident reported an act of criminal mischief to her house on Deborah Way. Upon arriving at the scene, Police located the four juveniles responsible.  All were taken into custody and released to their Parents or Guardians.

 A Poplar Place resident reported that sometime between November 26 at 12 a.m. and November 27 at 5:00 p.m., an unknown person cut his Christmas lights valued at 12 dollars.

Theft

A South Avenue business owner reported that sometime between November 29 at 4:30 p.m. and November 30 at 7:20 a.m. an unknown person smashed the windshield of vehicle used by the business and removed a GPS unit valued at 200 dollars.  

On November 26, a theft on Arlene Court was reported. The resident reported that sometime between 5:20 and 7 p.m., an unknown person entered her unlocked vehicle and removed jewelry, GPS and cash valued at 1,140 dollars.

On November 20 a theft on LaGrande Avenue was reported. The resident stated that sometime between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., packages valued at 63 dollars were stolen from the front porch of the residence.
