Fanwood Police Department to Hold Annual Coat Drive for Inner-City Children

Cheif Trigo invite residents to bring donations to the Fanwood Police Department lobby November 28 through December 19.

Winter is fast approaching leaving many who struggle to make ends unable to provide a warm coat to help their children get through those infamous Jersey winters. This Black Friday, as you grab the latest winter apparel steals and deals for the whole family, be sure to break out last year’s winter coats and donate them to those in need.

Police Chief Richard Trigo of the Fanwood Police Department is inviting all residents to donate gently used coats to the Fanwood Police Department’s annual winter coat collection for inner-city children.

“We are accepting new and gently used jackets and coats for girls and boys ages 3 to 16, as well as hats, gloves, mittens, scarves and socks.” Chief Trigo stated.

A collection box will be available at the Fanwood Police Department starting this Monday, November 28 and will remain in the lobby through December 19. If you arrive at the Police Department with donations after 4 p.m. or on weekends, simply use the call button so that an employee can give additional instructions.

“In advance, thank you for your generous donations, and have a Happy Thanksgiving.” Chief Trigo stated.
