Fanwood Police Investigating Home Break-In, Car Theft
The incident occurred over the weekend.
Fanwood police are looking for the person who broke into a borough resident's home last week and then stole their vehicle.
A resident of the 100 block of LaGrande Avenue reported to police that around 1 a.m. on Dec. 5, someone broke into their vehicle and during the course of going through it found the keys to their home. The suspect then entered the home while the occupants were sleeping and removed $3,000 worth of valuable coins.
While in the home, the thief then found the keys to the vehicle and stole it.

Police recovered the vehicle Monday night in Plainfield and are currently processing it for evidence.
