FW Police Reports: Nov. 23 to Dec. 6

Activity from the past week.

Fanwood police are working with other police departments to find a man wanted for robbing area stores.

The incident in Fanwood  occurred this past Saturday, Dec. 5. Police say a man entered a business on the 500 block of North Avenue and requested to purchase some items, then fled with several cartons of cigarettes.

Similar incidents have occurred recently in Scotch Plains, Garwood, Clark and Linden. All jurisdictions are working together to solve the case.

In other recent police activity, there have been several home and vehicle burglaries in the borough. Here's a look back at what's happened.

Monday, Nov. 23:

  • Sometime between 9:30 a.m. Nov. 23 and 9:30 a.m. Nov. 25, a resident of the 300 block of LaGrande Avenue reported that someone used his debit card to make various purchases totaling approximately $600. Police are working with the credit card company on the investigation. 

Tuesday, Nov. 24:

  • Robert C. Morris, 21, of Piscataway, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of South and Old South avenues for outstanding Piscataway and Plainfield warrants. He was processed then turned over to Piscataway police.

Wednesday, Nov. 25:

  • Peter J. Floersch, 18, of Clark, Powel Jamiolkowski, 18, of Clark, and Jiuseppi Conguista, 19, of Clark, were all arrested at 4:22 a.m. at the intersection of Terrill Road and Midway Avenue for possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance after a motor vehicle stop. They were processed, issued a summons and released.

Friday, Nov. 27:

  • Mark S. Robinson, 40, of Linden, was arrested at 12:52 p.m. for an outstanding Fanwood warrant after a field investigation. He posted bail and was released.
  • Deborah L. Battle, 43, of Plainfield, was arrested at 4:17 p.m. at the intersection of Hunter and Midway avenues for outstanding Warren warrants. She was processed and released.

Monday, Nov. 30:

  • A resident of the 1oo block of LaGrande Avenue reported that sometime between 4:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m., several boxes that were placed outside the home for UPS were stolen. The value of the items is unknown at this time. 

Thursday, Dec. 3:

  • Jeffrey E. Moore, 38, of Union, was arrested at 2:19 a.m. at the intersection of Terrill and Midway avenues for an outstanding Springfield warrant. He was processed and released.

Friday, Dec. 4:

  • A resident of the 400 block of LaGrande Avenue reported that an unknown man entered his home and when confronted by the victim, the man ran from the scene. Police processed the scene and are investigating.
  • Sometime between 6:15 p.m. Dec. 4 and 9 a.m. Dec. 5, a resident of the 100 block of Stewart Place reported that an unknown person entered their unlocked vehicle and removed $700 worth of jewelry, which was in there to be taken to the jeweler in the morning. 

Sunday, Dec. 6:

  • Maurice E. Dockery, 29, of Scotch Plains,was arrested for an outstanding no-bail Plainfield warrant at 4:02 p.m. on the 100 block of Midway Avenue. He was turned over to Plainfield police.
