FW Police Reports: Oct. 23 to Nov. 2

Police activity from the past two weeks.

Fanwood police only report a few incidents on or around Halloween this year.

The first occurred sometime between midnight on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30, when someone spray-painted graffiti on the back of a business on the 100 block of South Martine Avenue. Police are still investigating the incident.

Then on Halloween, sometime between 9 p.m. Oct. 31 and 8 a.m. Nov. 1, a resident in the 100 block of Midway Avenue reported that someone entered their unlocked vehicle and removed a wallet with personal papers, a drivers license, social security card and $300.

Here is the rest of the Fanwood police activity from the past couple of weeks.

Friday, Oct. 23:

  • Yusuf M. Abramson, 29, of the Bronx, was arrested for outstanding North Hunterdon warrants at 5:24 a.m. at the intersection of Terrill Road and Midway Avenue. He posted bail and was released.

Sunday, Oct. 25:

  • Vernon M. Taliaferro, 35, of North Plainfield, was arrested for outstanding Elizabeth warrants at 1:20 p.m. at the intersection of South Avenue and Laurel Place. He was turned over to Elizabeth authorities after failing to post bail.

Thursday, Oct. 29:

  • Rashad A. Watson, 22, of Plainfield, was arrested on an outstanding Fanwood warrant at 1:15 a.m. at the intersection of Terrill Road and Mary Lane. He posted bail and was released.
  • Mario Pelaez, 31, of Elizabeth, was arrested on an outstanding Rahway warrant at 11:51 a.m. at the intersection of LaGrande and Beech avenues. He posted bail and was released.

Saturday, Oct. 31:

  • Jonathan P. Knechtel, 19, of Scotch Plains, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after a field investigation at 12:21 p.m. on the 50 block of North Avenue. He was processed and issued a summons for municipal court.

Sunday, Nov. 1:

  • Mark D. Bower, 34, of Williamsport, Penn., was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after a motor vehicle stop at 9:22 p.m. on the 300 block of South Avenue. He was issued a summons to appear in municipal court.
  • An unknown person entered a home on the 100 block of Martine Avenue. Police are investigating.

Monday, Nov. 2:

  • Lindsey A. Burts, 26, of Scotch Plains, was arrested on outstanding Franklin and Union warrants at 3 p.m. at the 100 block of South Avenue. She was processed and turned over to Franklin authorities.
