Man Charged with DWI After Crashing into Car and Telephone Pole
Police state that Fischetti struck a car on Bartle Avenue before crashing into a telephone pole on Stout Avenue.
are reporting that a North Plainfield man has been charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia after he allegedly crashed his vehicle into a car on Bartle Avenue, sped off, and ultimately crashed into a telephone pole on Stout Avenue. No bystanders were injured.
Scotch Plains Police Captain Brian Donnelly stated that John Fischetti, 44, of North Plainfield was traveling with Samantha Petrullo, 34, also of North Plainfield, when he crashed the vehicle. When Fischetti was searched at the scene, Police uncovered a needle, calling for the drug paraphernalia charge.
“Fischetti was he was taken to Overlook Hospital by the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad and Police after he complained of pain at the scene,” Donnelly stated. “He was treated and released to the police and was taken to Scotch Plains Police Headquarters. He was processed and released after posting bail.”

Scotch Plains Police also uncovered a needle on Samantha Petrullo at the scene of the crash. She was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to Scotch Plains Police Headquarters where she was released on a summons.
