Raritan and Rahway Road Intersection to Be Closed for Water Main Repair

The work should happen on or about Nov. 29.

On or about Friday, Nov. 29, all approaches to the intersection of Raritan Road and Rahway Road in Scotch Plains will be shut down for the repair of a water main, police advise.

This repair should take 2-3 days, weather permitting. Police say the repair was held off until after the Thanksgiving holiday to lessen the impact on motorists.

There are no short or quick detours through the area, police say. They urge motorists to plan an alternate route and stay clear of the area entirely to avoid confusion and frustration.

Scotch Plains Police will be posted on all approaches to the intersection to assist residents and enforce the closure.
