Resident Awakes to Intruder in Redwood Road Home

Police say the intruder entered the home by pulling out the screen of an open window.

A Scotch Plains resident called 911 to report he heard an intruder in his home on the 2200 block of Redwood Road around 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to Scotch Plains police.

Police responded to the home and searched the area for the intruder but found no one. 

Police say the resident stated he awoke to a noise, and when he went downstairs he heard an individual leaving through the sliding glass door into the backyard. Police say the resident did not observe the intruder, so no description was obtained.

The Scotch Plains Police Detective Bureau has an active investigation and are asking anybody with information to contact Det. Sgt. Joyce at 908-322-7100 x113.
