Scotch Plains Blotter: Attempted Burglary to Church Avenue Home and Other Thefts

Burglary

January, 9 2013: A resident of Church Ave. reported being a victim of an attempted Burglary.  He stated when he came home at approximately 5:30 p.m. a white male was trying to get into the closed in porch area.  When the victim asked the suspect what they were doing he ran off.

January 13, 2013:  The manager of a Route 22 restaurant reported being a victim of an attempted burglary.  He stated sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) attempted to gain entry into the restaurant by prying open the window to the drive thru.   

 

Criminal Mischief 

January 8, 2013: A resident of Raritan Rd.  reported being a victim of Criminal Mischief. He stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) drove onto his property and damaged the lawn and lamp post.

 

Harrasment

January 8, 2013: A resident of Lake Ave. reported being a victim of Harassment. She stated that an ex-friend sends her several text messages a day.


Theft

January 8, 2013: A resident of Belvedere Dr. reported being victim of a Theft. She stated that unknown suspect(s) removed a checkbook from her kitchen.  She had several people over to do work and when they left she noticed her checkbook was missing.

January 13, 2013: A resident of Cook Ave. reported being a victim of a Theft.  She stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered her vehicle and removed a laptop which was valued at approximately $600.  The victim stated the vehicle was locked but there were no signs of forced entry.



Fraud 

January 12, 2013: A resident of Park Ave. reported being a victim of Fraud.  He stated that he received a call from his bank stated that unknown suspect(s) fraudulently signed his name to a bank record in an attempt to withdraw money.
