Scotch Plains Blotter: DWI, Mysterious Letter, Fraud, Arrests and More

The following information was provided by the Scotch Plains Police Department. Arrests do not indicate conviction.


October 15, 2012:

A resident of Park Ave. reported being a victim of a Theft.  She stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) attempted to enter her vehicle. Entrance was attempted by damaging the lock on the door.

October 16, 2012:

The manager of a Route 22 gas station reported being a victim of Fraud.  He stated that a unknown suspect purchased gas and paid with a counterfeit $100 bill.

 

October 16, 2012:

 

A resident of Donsen Lane reported being victim of Fraud.  He stated that unknown suspect(s) opened up a credit card in his name without his authorization. No purchases were made.


October 16, 2012:

A resident of Algonquin Dr. reported being a victim of a Theft.  He stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) removed his IPhone from a bench when he left it for a few minutes.  The IPhone was valued at approximately $300.


October 16, 2012:

Asif Mahmood, 34-years-old, of North Arlington N.J. was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.  Officer Luciano stopped Mahmood for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and while speaking with him he observed the Marijuana.  Mahmood was arrested and transported to headquarters where he was processed and released.


October 17, 2012:

Jhoan Delima, 25-years-old, of Elizabeth N.J. was arrested for a $500 outstanding warrant issued by the Warren court.  Officer D. Belford stopped Delima for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and discovered the warrant.  He was transported to headquarters where he was processed and released.


10/17                    

Nicholas Dicanto, 44-years-old, Plainfield N.J. was arrested for a $2,128 outstanding warrant issued by the South Plainfield court.  Officer Luciano stopped Dicanto for a motor vehicle violation on East Second St. and discovered the warrant.  He was transported to headquarters where he was processed and released.


October 18, 2012:

A resident of Cooper Rd. reported being a victim of Harassment.  She stated that unknown suspect(s) taped a letter to her front door.


October 19, 2012:

A resident of Fieldcrest Dr. reported being a victim of Fraud.  He stated that unknown suspect(s) made approximately $600 in purchases on his credit card without his authorization.


October 19, 2012:

Mark Anthony, 43-years-old, of Piscataway N.J. was arrested for a $650 outstanding warrant issued by the Scotch Plains court.  Officer Combs stopped Anthony for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and discovered the warrant.  He was transported to headquarters where he was processed and released.


October 19, 2012:

Nicholas Monteaperto, 32-years-old, New Brunswick N.J. was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Officer Richie stopped Monteaperto for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and while speaking with him he smelled a strong odor of Alcohol.  After failing several field sobriety tests, Monteaperto was placed under arrest. He was arrested and transported to headquarters where he was processed and released.


October 20, 2012:

A 20-year-old of Warrant St. Somerville N.J. was arrested for a $235 outstanding warrant issued by the Scotch Plains court.  Officer Citarella stopped the 20-year-old for a motor vehicle violation on Park Ave. and discovered the warrant.  He was transported to headquarters where he was processed and released.
