Scotch Plains Blotter: Fraud, Harassment, and Warrant Arrests

The following information was provided by the Scotch Plains Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

July 30, 2012: A Winchester Drive resident reported being the victim of fraud. She stated an unknown person attempted to open a credit card using her name and social security number.

July 30, 2012: A Front Street resident reported being the victim of harassment. He states an ex-girlfriend yells obscenities at him when she drives by his house.

July 30, 2012: A Jersey Avenue resident reported being the victim of criminal mischief. He reported an unknown person damaged a tree decoration valued at $60.

July 31, 2012: A Glenside Avenue resident reported being the victim of criminal mischief. She reported an unknown suspect damaged her mailbox overnight.

July 31, 2012: A Seneca Road resident reported being the victim of fraud. He stated an unknown person opened a credit card in his name and charged $1,000.

July 31, 2012: An Irvington, NJ man was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Scotch Plains, NJ as a result of a vehicle stop by Ptl. Rites.

August 1, 2012: A Lake Park Terrace resident reported being the victim of harassment. She stated her ex-boyfriend bangs on her house door several times a day.

August 2, 2012: A Rambling Drive resident reported being the victim of criminal mischief. He stated an unknown person broke the window of his vehicle overnight.

August 2, 2012: A Route 22 business reported being the victim of criminal mischief. The owner stated an unknown person threw something at his business overnight, causing damage.

August 3, 2012: A Route 22 business reported the burglary of aluminum fencing, valued at $100.

August 3, 2012: A Scotch Plains, NJ man was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Bucks County, PA as a result of a vehicle stop by Ptl. Lewis.

August 3, 2012: An Elizabeth, NJ woman was arrested for an outstanding warrant from Elizabeth, NJ as a result of a vehicle stop by Ptl. Richie.

August 5, 2012: A Union, NJ woman was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated as a result of a vehicle stop by Ptl. D. Belford.

August 5, 2012: A North Plainfield, NJ man was arrested for an outstanding warrant from North Plainfield, NJ as a result of a vehicle stop by Ptl. D. Belford.
