Scotch Plains Blotter: Mountain Avenue Store Owner Reports Burglary

The following arrest information was provided by the Scotch Plains Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

This release was received from the Scotch Plains Police Department.

5/6                       A resident of Hill Rd. reported being a victim of a Theft.  He stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered his vehicle.  Once inside the suspect(s) removed several pieces of electronics valued at approximately $475.  Entrance was gained through an unlocked door.

5/7                        The owner of a Mountain Ave. store reported being a victim of a Burglary.  He stated that at approximately 2:00 am, two unknown suspects entered the store.  Once inside, the suspects removed several hundred dollars in cash and several hundred dollars in cigars.  Entrance was gained by prying open the front door.

5/8                        A resident of Roberts Lane reported being a victim of Criminal Mischief.  He stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) damaged a ceramic animal that was in front of his house.

 

5/10                     Jamal Hill Age. 19 of Isabella Ave. Newark N.J.  was arrested for a $350 outstanding warrant issued by the Newark court.  Off. B. Belford stopped Hill for a motor vehicle violation on Lamberts Mill Rd. and discovered the warrant.  He was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.

 

5/11                      Jessica Waters Age. 21 of Denise Ct. Somerset N.J. was arrested for a $120 outstanding warrant issued by the Scotch Plains court.  Off. M. Mahoney stopped Waters for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and discovered the warrant.  She was transported to H.Q. where she was processed and released.

 

5/12                      A resident of Westfield Rd. reported that sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) hit his vehicle and drove away.  The vehicle was legally parked in front of his house when it was struck. 

 

5/12                     A resident of Clydesdale Rd. reported being a victim of Criminal Mischief.  She stated sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) threw eggs at her house.

 

5/12                      Bruce Munoz Age. 27 of Mountain Ave. North Plainfield N.J. was arrested for a $300 outstanding warrant issued by the Scotch Plains court.  Off. Redling stopped Munoz for a motor vehicle violation on East Second St. and discovered the warrant.  He was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.       

 

5/12                      Pedro Alleyne Age. 66 of Smith St. Newark N.J. was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Off. Luciano stopped Alleyne for a motor vehicle violation on Park Ave. and while speaking with him he smelled a strong odor of alcohol.  After Alleyne failed several field sobriety tests he was placed under arrest. He was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.
