SP Blotter: Residents Report Fraud, Theft, Harassment, Criminal Mischief

The following arrest information was provided by the Scotch Plains Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Scotch Plains police activity from April 21 - 28, 2013:

Theft

4/22  The manager of a waste management company reported being a victim of a theft. He stated an unknown suspect(s) removed one of his dumpster from a property on Hidden Meadow Dr. without his authorization. The dumpster is valued at approximately $4,000.

4/22  A resident of William St. reported being a victim of a theft. He stated that sometime during the day there were several people in his house, and when they left he noticed that several hundred dollars was missing.

Harassment

4/22  A resident of Greenbrier Lane reported being a victim of harassment. He stated that he has been receiving several phone calls from an unknown suspect. The suspect then yells and hangs the phone up.     

Fraud

4/23   A resident of Linden Lane reported being a victim of fraud. She stated that unknown suspect(s) made approximately $600 in purchases on her credit card without her authorization.

Criminal Mischief

4/23  A resident of Dona Lane reported being a victim of criminal mischief. He stated sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) scratched the side door of his vehicle which was parked in his driveway.

Warrant Arrests

4/23   Veronica Damacela-Nunez, age 31, of Grove Street in North Plainfield, was arrested for a $1,000 outstanding warrant issued by the North Plainfield.  Off. Bruschetti stopped Damacela-Nunez for a motor vehicle violation on Terrill Road and discovered the warrant. She was transported to H.Q. where she was processed and released.

4/24   Demetrius Green, age 22, of Central Avenue in Plainfield, was arrested for an $865 outstanding warrant issued by the Scotch Plains court. Off. Mahoney stopped Green for a motor vehicle violation on Park Avenue and discovered the warrant. He was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.

4/25  Jerold Fredricks, age 30, of Connett Road in South Orange, was arrested for a $500 outstanding warrant issued by the Irvington court. Off. Redling stopped Fredricks for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and discovered the warrant. He was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.

4/26  John Campbell, age 37, of Mistletoe Lane in Point Pleasant, was arrested for a $923 outstanding warrant issued by the Scotch Plains court. Off. Silva stopped Campbell for a motor vehicle violation on Front Street and discovered the warrant. He was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.

4/28  Louis King, age 32, of Florence Avenue in Plainfield, was arrested for a $1,500 outstanding warrant issued by the Scotch Plains court. Off. Luciano stopped King for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and discovered the warrant. She was transported to H.Q. where she was processed and released.
