Scotch Plains Blotter: Theft, Burglary, Criminal Mischief and Arrests

The following information was provided by the Scotch Plains Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

 

August 27, 2012:  A resident of Montague Ave. reported being a victim of a Theft.  She stated that she lent her vehicle to a friend and the friend failed to bring it back.  The vehicle is valued at approximately $5,000.

August 27, 2012:  A resident of Raritan Rd.  reported being a victim of an Attempted Burglary.  He stated that sometime over the last several days’ unknown suspect(s) tried to enter the house through a rear door.

August 27, 2012:  An owner of a store on South Ave. reported being victim of a Burglary.  He stated that sometime during the night unknown suspect(s) entered the store.  Once inside the unknown suspect(s) removed an undetermined amount of cash.  Entrance was gained by removing one of the windows.

August 28, 2012:  A patron at a Park Ave. restaurant reported being a victim of a Theft.  She stated that sometime during the night unknown suspect(s) removed her wallet from her pocketbook that was left near her chair.  The wallet contained an undetermined amount of cash.

August 29, 2012:  A resident of William St. reported being a victim of Fraud.  She stated that unknown suspect(s) removed approximately $500 from her checking account without her authorization.

August 30, 2012:  A resident of Lake Park Terr. Reported being a victim of Criminal Mischief.  She stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) smashed the mirror on the driver’s side of her vehicle which was parked in the street. 

August 31, 2012:  The owner of an east second St. Restaurant reported that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) illegally dumped garbage in his dumpster.          

September 2, 2012: Daniel Sarku Age. 26 of North Brunswick N.J. was arrested for a $10,000 outstanding warrant issued by the Union County Superior court.  Off. Pearson stopped Sarku for a motor vehicle violation on Front St. and discovered the warrant.  He was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and turned over to the Union County Sheriff’s office. 

September 2, 2012:  Jennifer Ligieri Age. 32 of Patterson N.J. was arrested for a $500 outstanding warrant issued by the Newark court.  Off. Budzinski stopped Ligieri for a motor vehicle violation on Mountain Ave. and discovered the warrant.  She was transported to H.Q. where she was processed and released.  

September 3, 2012:  Nicole Fridy Age. 21 of Plainfield N.J. was arrested for a $476 outstanding warrant issued by the Maplewood court.  Off. Ostrowski stopped Fridy for a motor vehicle violation on Front St. and discovered the warrant.  She was arrested and transported to H.Q. where she was processed and released.
