Scotch Plains Blotter: Theft, Harassment, and DWIs

The following information was provided by the Scotch Plains Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

August 6, 2012: A Greensview Court resident reported being a victim of a theft. He said that an unknown suspect entered his vehicle overnight and, once inside, removed several pieces of electronics valued at $840. Entrance was gained through an unlocked door.

August 7, 2012: A Harwich Village resident reported being a victim of harassment, claiming that a neighbor yells at him and takes his picture when he is outside.

August 7, 2012: A Westfield Avenue store manager reported being victim of a theft. He said an unknown suspect removed several items from the store without paying for them worth $80.

August 8, 2012: A Canterbury Drive resident reported being a victim of criminal mischief.  She stated an unknown suspect put some chemicals in her swimming pool without her authorization overnight.

August 10, 2012: A Rambling Drive resident reported being a victim of a burglary, claiming an unknown suspect entered her house sometime during the day.  She said entrance was gained by smashing the glass of the rear patio door.  Once inside, the suspect reportedly removed several thousand dollars in jewelry.

August 12, 2012: A Nicholl Avenue resident reported an unknown suspect hit his vehicle and drove away overnight.  The vehicle was legally parked in front of his house when it was struck.       

August 12, 2012: A Plainfield, NJ man was arrested for driving while intoxicated as the result of a vehicle stop on Park Avenue by Ptl. Richie.
