Drivers Beware: New, Lower Scotch Plains Speed Limits Effective Today

Speed limits on the following sections of County Roads have recently been lowered by the passing of a township ordinance and a resolution by Union County.

This release was received from the Scotch Plains Police Department.

Speed limits on the following sections of our County Roads have recently been lowered by the passing of a Township Ordinance and a Concurring Resolution by the County of Union.  The reductions are as indicated below:

Martine Av btw King and Cooper - 35 mph
Martine Av btw Cooper and Raritan - 40 mph
Terrill Rd Btw King and Raritan - 35 mph
Raritan Rd btw Terrill Rd and Lake Av - 35 mph
Raritan Rd Btw Lake Av and Lamberts Mill Rd - 25 mph

As a reminder, there are several, clearly marked, 25 mph "School Zones" in the above listed section of roads.  They are:

Union Catholic HS on Martine Ave
Union County Vo-Tech on Raritan Rd
Terrill Middle School on Terrill Rd
