Scotch Plains PD Arrest Five for Drug Possession

Five were arrested in five days for possession of cocaine and marijuana.

Theft

On June 19, a theft occurred at a Waldheim Avenue business. A worker stated he left his wallet in the company truck and when he returned the wallet was missing. The wallet contained several hundred dollars in cash. Entry was gained through an unlocked door.

On June 21, a theft occurred outside a Gallagher Avenue residence. The victim stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered her vehicle while it was parked in her driveway.  Once inside the suspect(s) removed an undetermined amount of cash.  Entrance was gained through an unlocked door.

Fraud

On June 21, a Pheasant Lane resident reported being victim of fraud. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) opened up a credit card without his authorization. The victim received a bill for approximately $3,500.

Harassment

On June 19, a Hill Drive resident reported being a victim of harassment. The victim stated that he has received several insulting emails from a former client.

On June 20, a Riverdale Court resident reported being a victim of harassment. The victim stated that he has received numerous phone calls at all hours of the night from his ex-girlfriend.                        

Arrests

Ronald Christian, 23, of Irvington, was arrested on June 19, for possession of cocaine. Officer Pearson stopped Christian for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and while speaking with him he observed the cocaine. Christian was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.

Dshawn Knight, 24, of South Orange, was arrested on June 19, for possession of marijuana. Officer Von Langen stopped Knight for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and while speaking with him he observed the marijuana. Knight was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.

Lawrence Dent, 22, of Scotch Plains, was arrested on June 20, for possession of marijuana. Officer Alvarez-Diaz stopped Dent for a motor vehicle violation on North Avenue and while speaking with him he observed the Marijuana.  Dent was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.

Tamar Robinson, 24, of Edison, was arrested on June 22, for possession of marijuana. Officer Von Langen stopped Robinson for a motor vehicle violation on Woodland Avenue and while speaking with him he observed the marijuana. Robinson was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released.

Elijah Clark, 24, of Plainfield, was arrested on June 24, for possession of marijuana. Officer Rites stopped Clark for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and while speaking with him he observed the marijuana.  Clark was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail.    

Abdulla Meyers, 38, of Ellenwood, Georgia, was arrested on June 23, for an $880 outstanding warrant issued by the Warren court. Officer Citarella stopped Meyers for a motor vehicle violation on South Avenue and discovered the warrant. Meyers was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.
