Scotch Plains PD Nab Four for Possession of Marijuana

SPPD also arrest one for weapon possession, investigate gas station burglary, local thefts.

Fraud

On March 13, a King Street resident reported an act of fraud. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) made approximately $1,200 in charges on her credit card without her authorization.

On March 14, a Prospect Avenue resident reported an act of fraud. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) made several thousand dollars in purchases on his credit card without his authorization.

Burglary

On March 15, a burglary occurred on Country Club Lane. The manager of the burglarized cash machine stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered her machine and removed several thousand dollars in cash.

Theft

On March 16, a theft occurred on East Second Street.  The victim stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) removed his vehicle which was parked in his driveway.

Criminal Mischief

On March 16, a Terrill Road resident reported an act of criminal mischief. The victim stated that sometime during the day unknown suspect(s) threw a rock at his vehicle causing damage.  

Robbery

On March 18, a . The manager stated that at approximately 10:50 p.m. an unknown suspect walked up, pulled out a handgun and demanded money.  The suspect then fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. No one injured.            

Arrests

Dane Doyle, 33, of Scotch Plains, was arrested on March 13, for possession of a weapon. Officer Aversa stopped Doyle on a report of a disorderly individual walking in the middle of the road. While speaking with him, Officer Aversa observed a knife in his possession.  Doyle was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. He was processed and released after posting bail.

Sean Clark, 19, of Westfield, was arrested on March 14, at Golf Street for possession of marijuana. Officer Von Langen stopped Clark for a motor vehicle violation on Golf Street and smelled a strong odor of marijuana while speaking with him. Clark was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed and released.

Jamee McCoy, 34, of Plainfield, was arrested on March 14, at Rahway Road for possession of marijuana. Officer Belford stopped McCoy for a motor vehicle violation on Rahway Road and observed a bag of marijuana while speaking with him. McCoy was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed and released.

Asya Bell, 21, of Plainfield, was arrested on March 14, at on Route 22 for possession of marijuana.  Officer Von Langen stopped Bell for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and observed a bag of marijuana while speaking with him.  Bell was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed and released.      

Monique Adams, 26, of Newark, was arrested on March 16, at Route 22 for possession of marijuana. Officer Von Langen stopped Adams for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and observed a bag of marijuana while speaking with her. Adams was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed and released.

Javier Odar, 22, of Plainfield, was arrested on March 17, at Park Avenue for a $150 outstanding warrant issued by the Plainfield court. Officer Franco stopped Odar for a motor vehicle violation on Park Avenue and discovered the warrant. Odar was transported to police headquarters, processed and released.

John Mruczinski, 47, of Fanwood, was arrested on March 17, at Martine Avenue for a $250 outstanding warrant issued by the Plainfield court. Officer Pearson stopped Mruczinski for a motor vehicle violation on Martine Avenue and discovered the warrant.  Mruczinski was transported to police headquarters, processed and released.

Benny Rouland, 43, of Plainfield, was arrested on March 17 at Front Street for a $1,500 outstanding warrant issued by the Middlesex court. Officer Luciano stopped Rouland for motor vehicle violation on Front Street and discovered the warrant.  Rouland was transported to police headquarters, processed and released.
