SP Police Arrest Out-of-towners for Fraud, Possession, Outstanding Warrants

Scotch Plains Police bust Wharton resident for possession of marijuana, Elizabeth resident for carrying fraudulent documents.

Fraud

On February 27, a Jersey Avenue resident reported an act of fraud. The victim stated that sometime over the last few weeks unknown suspect(s) withdrew several hundred dollars from her checking account without her authorization.

On March 1, a Mountainview Avenue resident reported an act of fraud. The victim stated that he received a call from his credit card company advising him that unknown suspect(s) made several thousand dollars in purchases without his authorization.

Theft

On March 2, a Kevin Road resident reported being a victim of a theft. The victim stated that sometime during the day, unknown suspect(s) removed her cell phone, valued at approximately $200 from her book bag.

On March 2, a theft occurred at the . The victim stated that he left his laptop, valued at approximately $800 in his bag during class and when he returned, the laptop was gone. 

Harassment

On February 27, a Rambling Drive resident reported being a victim of harassment. The victim stated that he has received several emails from an ex-friend stating negative comments about him.

On February 29, a Maddaket Village resident reported being a victim of harassment. The victim stated that one of his neighbors constantly yells at him and causes a disturbance every time he tries to leave. 

Arrests

Andrew Federhenn, 27, of Wharton, was arrested on February 29, for possession of marijuana. Officer Luciano stopped Federhenn for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and observed the Marijuana while speaking with Federhenn. Federhenn was placed under arrest, transported to Police Headquarters, processed and released.

Israel Cabrales, 56, of Elizabeth, was arrested on March 2 for possession of fraudulent documents. Officer Lewis stopped Cabrales for motor vehicle violation on South Avenue. While speaking with him, Cabrales produced a fake auto insurance card. Cabrales was placed under arrest, transported to Police Headquarters, processed and released.

Edward Romero, 43, of Toms River, was arrested on March 3, for a $4,500 outstanding warrant issued by the Middlesex County court. Officer Rites stopped Romero for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and discovered the warrant.  Romero was transported to Police Headquarters, processed and released.

Lawrence Kyser, 38, of Englewood, was arrested on March 3, for a $289 outstanding warrant issued by the Teaneck court. Officer Denman stopped Kyser for a motor vehicle violation on Martine Avenue and discovered the warrant.  Kryser was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.

Sade Scott, 23, of Plainfield, was arrested on March 4, for a $1,200 outstanding warrant issued by the Scotch Plains court. Officer Denman stopped Scott for motor vehicle violation on Westfield Avenue and discovered the warrant.  Scott was transported to Police Headquarters, processed and released.
