Drug arrests top the list of recent criminal activity in Scotch Plains.
Theft
On January 16, a visiting player at a Scotch Plains Fanwood High School sports game reported being a victim of a theft. The victim stated that sometime during the game unknown suspect(s) removed money from his gym bag that was left unattended.
On January 19, a Park Avenue resident reported being victim of a theft. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) took a bench valued at approximately $200 that was left behind the house.

Vehicle Theft
On January 19, a Lake Avenue resident reported being a victim of a Theft. The victim stated sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) stole his vehicle which was parked in the driveway. The victim had left the keys in the vehicle.

On January 18, a Route 22 resident reported being a victim of a theft. The victim stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) stole his vehicle which was parked in the driveway.
Criminal Mischief
On January 22, a Raritan Road resident reported being a victim of criminal mischief. He stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) damaged his fence along the side of his house.
Arrests
Karen Grisales, 22, of Plainfield, was arrested on January 18, for possession of marijuana. Officer Luciano stopped Grisales for a motor vehicle violation on Terrill Road and observed the marijuana while speaking with Grisales. The defendant was placed under arrest, transported to Police Headquarters, processed and released.
Menardo Serrano-Vides, 32 ,of Plainfield, was arrested on January 18, for criminal trespassing on Martine Avenue. The Martine Avenue business owner called police to report that an individual was inside the business. When police arrived, they arrested Serrano-Vides for criminal trespassing. Serrano-Vides stated he was walking home and got cold so he entered the building to warm up and to get some rest.
Jamaal Thorpe, 32 of Plainfield, was arrested on January 19, for a $500 outstanding warrant issued by the North Brunswick court. Officer VonLangen stopped Thorpe for motor vehicle violation on East Second Street and discovered the warrant. Thorpe was transported to Police Headquarters, processed and released.
Kimberly Clark-Waddy, 44, of Watchung, was arrested on January 20 for a $600 outstanding warrant issued by the Watchung court. Officer Aversa stopped Clark-Waddy for a motor vehicle violation on Terrill Road and discovered the warrant. Clark-Waddy was transported to Police Headquarters, processed and released.
Mercedes Holman, 23, of Newark, was arrested on January 20, for a $500 outstanding warrant issued by the Newark court. Officer VonLangen stopped Holman for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and discovered the warrant. Holman was transported to Police Headquarters, processed and released.
Michael Edghill, 24, of Plainfield, was arrested on January 20, for a $1,000 outstanding warrant issued by the Westfield court. Officer Everitt stopped Edghill for motor vehicle violation on North Avenue and discovered the warrant. Edghill was transported to Police Headquarters, processed and released.
David Rivera, 29, of Plainfield, was arrested on January 20, for possession of marijuana. Officer Luciano stopped Rivera for a motor vehicle violation on Aberdeen Road and observed the Marijuana while speaking with him. Rivera was placed under arrest, transported to Police Headquarters, processed and released.
