SP Police Blotter: Gas Station Thief Filled Up, Then Drove Away

The following arrest information was provided by the Scotch Plains police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Scotch Plains police activity from March 25 - 31, 2013:

 3/25                     A resident of Redwood Dr. reported being a victim of a Theft.  He stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered his vehicle.  Once inside the suspect(s) removed undetermined amount of change.  Entrance was gained through an unlocked door.

3/27                      A resident of Country Club reported being a victim of a Theft.  He stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered his vehicle which was parked in her driveway.  Once inside the suspect(s) removed several DVDs. valued at approximately $150.  Entrance was gained through an unlocked door.

3/28                      Marvin King Age. 25 of Lanark Ave. Newark N.J. was arrested for a $1,120 outstanding warrant issued by the Springfield court.  Off. Rites stopped King for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and discovered the warrant.  He was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.

 

3/28                       Ernesto Sani Age. 35 of Warren St. North Plainfield NJ was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  Off. Alvarez-Diaz stopped Sani for a motor vehicle violation on Terrill Rd. and while speaking with him he smelled a strong odor of alcohol.  Sani was placed under arrest after he failed several field sobriety tests.  He was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.

 

3/30                      A resident of Swans Mill Lane reported being a victim of Criminal Mischief.  She stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) damaged her front door.      

 

3/30                      The manager of a Route 22 gas station reported being a victim of a Theft. He stated that a customer received $49 in gas then left without paying.

 

3/30                      Latoya Bright Age. 27 of N. Arlington Ave. East Orange N.J. was arrested for a $150 outstanding warrant issued by the Linden court.  Off. Rites stopped Bright for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and discovered the warrant.  She was transported to H.Q. where she was processed and released.

 

3/30                     A resident of Riga Ct. reported being a victim of Fraud.  He stated that unknown suspect(s) made approximately $1,500 in purchases on his credit card without his authorization.

 

3/31                      Imer Cami Age. 24 of New Lane Staten Island N.Y. was arrested for Possession of Marijuana Off. Rites stopped Cami for a motor vehicle violation on Kipling Lane and while speaking with him he observed the Marijuana.  He was arrested and transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.
