Scotch Plains Police Blotter: SPF Teacher Reports Theft During Class

The following arrest information was provided by the Scotch Plains police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Scotch Plains police activity from March 11 - 18, 2013:

3/12  - A resident of Wheatley Ct. reported being a victim of Fraud.  He stated that he received a call from his stock broker regarding a request to have all funds transferred to another account.  At this time it is undetermined how much money was transferred.

3/12  - A resident of Hunter Ave reported being a victim of Harassment.  She stated that a neighbor yells obscenities at her and parks her vehicle in front of her house.

3/13  - A resident of East Second St. reported being victim of a Theft.  He stated that unknown suspect(s) removed a laptop from his living room.  He had several people over and when they left he noticed the laptop missing.  The ring is valued at approximately $200.

3/13  - William Socarras Age. 27 of West Scott Ave. Rahway N.J was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.  Off. Lavery stopped Socarras for a motor vehicle violation on Cushing Rd. and while speaking with him he observed the marijuana. Socarras was placed under arrest and transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.

3/14 - A resident of White Oak Rd. reported being a victim of Harassment.  He stated his ex-girlfriend parks in front of his house and watches him several times a week.    

3/15  - A teacher at the Scotch Plains Fanwood High School reported being a victim of a Theft.  She stated that during class she left her bag unattended and unknown suspect(s) removed her wristlet valued at approximately $50.

3/15 - A resident of Graymill Dr. reported being a victim of Fraud. He stated that unknown suspect(s) transferred his cell phone number service so that he would still receive the bill.

3/15 - A resident of Seward Dr. reported being a victim of Criminal Mischief. He stated sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) scratched the side of his vehicle.  The vehicle was parked in the street.

3/16 - Angel Martinez Age. 22 of Little Pl. North Plainfield N.J. was arrested for a $500 outstanding warrant issued by the Metuchen court.  Off. Rites stopped Martinez for a motor vehicle violation on Terrill Rd. and discovered the warrant.  He was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and released.
