Police activity from June 1 to June 5.

A restaurant employee reported being punched, a resident and a store manager reported two cases of fraud, and police reported three arrests last week.

Here are the reports released by the Scotch Plains Police Department:

Tuesday, June 1:

A resident of Newark Avenue reported being a victim of theft. He stated that an unknown suspect or suspects took a statue from the front of his house. The statue was valued at about $500.

A worker at a Route 22 restaurant reported being a victim of an assault. He stated that he got into an argument with a coworker. The coworker then punched him in the face, causing a minor injury, according to the report.

Wednesday, June 2:

A resident of North Avenue reported being a victim of fraud. She stated that an unknown suspect or suspects cashed a check without her authorization. The check was valued at about $500.

Police arrested Leonard Arce, 39, of Rahway, for an outstanding warrant. An officer stopped Arce for a motor vehicle violation and discovered the warrant. Arce was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.

Thursday, June 3:

A resident of North Avenue reported being a victim of criminal mischief. She reported that an unknown suspect or suspects destroyed her fence. The fence was valued at about $150.

Friday, June 4:

A resident of Union Avenue reported being a victim of harassment. He stated that an unknown suspect called him and stated that he was going to damage his property and cause him harm.

Police arrested Anthony Thomas, 21, of Plainfield, for an outstanding warrant. An officer stopped Thomas for a motor vehicle violation and discovered the warrant. He was transported to headquarters, where he was processed and released.

Saturday, June 5: 

Police arrested Shel Buffaloe, 43, of Plainfield, for an outstanding warrant. An officer stopped Buffaloe for a motor vehicle violation and discovered the warrant. He was transported to headquarters, where he was processed and released.

The manager of a Park Avenue store reported an incident of fraud. He stated that a customer came into the store and purchased about $200 worth of products and then paid for them with a fraudulent credit card.
