Scotch Plains Police Reports: Dec. 28 to Jan. 3

Police activity from the past week.

Scotch Plains police arrested a Fanwood man Saturday for a disruption at a local restaurant.

Anthony Niemczyk, 21, was arrested for obstruction after police responded to a report of a disruption at a Park Avenue restaurant. Upon arrival, police observed Niemczyk yelling. He refused to listen to the officer's request to calm down.

Niemczyk was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.

Below is the rest of the police reports from the past week.

Monday, Dec. 28:

  • A resident of Country Club Lane reported being a victim of a burglary. The woman stated that an unknown suspect entered her apartment and removed several hundred dollars in cash and several electronics, valued at approximately $400.
  • A resident of Jerusalem Road reported being a victim of criminal mischief. The man stated that an unknown vehicle dumped garbage on his front lawn and then drove away.
  • A resident of Essex Road reported being a victim of theft. The woman stated that unknown suspect removed her mailbox from the front of her house. The mailbox was valued at approximately $65.

Thursday, Dec. 31:

  • A landlord on East Second Street reported being a victim of harassment. The man stated that he has been having an ongoing dispute with his downstairs tenant.

Saturday, Jan. 2:

  • David Gunthorpe, 32, of Plainfield, was arrested for an outstanding warrant after a motor vehicle stop. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.
  • Keir Minor, 38, of Centerville, Va., was arrested for an outstanding warrant after a motor vehicle stop. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.
  • Jennifer Greene, 42, of Somerset, was arrested for an outstanding warrant after a motor vehicle stop. She was transported to police headquarters, where she was processed and released.
