Scotch Plains Rescue Squad Raised Over $2,500 at Fourth Annual Pancake Breakfast

On Feb. 24 the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad held a successful fourth annual pancake breakfast.

 

The Scotch Plains Rescue Squad held their 4th annual Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 24.

“This was our best one ever,” said Jennifer Speth, founder of the Rescue Squad’s Auxiliary. “Between ticket sales, raffles and other donations we were able to clear over $2,500 after expenses, making this the highest amount we have ever raised.”

Auxiliary members were on hand to cook pancakes and sausage, serve breakfast and raffle off baskets donated by the various sponsors.

“We really had a great turn out,” said Joanne Glover, wife of Scotch Plains Mayor Kevin Glover and an Auxiliary member.

In addition to the Mayor and his wife, the entire Scotch Plains Council put in an appearance is a show of support for the Rescue Squad.

The Squad welcomes new members as well as those interested in contributing time and talent to support the organization. Individuals can apply for membership at eighteen years of age or serve as a cadet at age sixteen. Those ages fourteen or older can serve on the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad Auxiliary.

The Rescue Squad has many services available for those in the community with need. Hospital equipment, such as wheelchairs, canes and crutches are available for use, free of charge.

The Scotch Plains Rescue Squad relies on ongoing community support. These contributions enable the Squad to fulfill their motto, Neighbors Helping Neighbors. We Work For Pride Not Pay. The Squad looks forward to continued growth with the township of Scotch Plains as they faithfully serve those who call for help.
