SP Police Investigate Stolen Copper Pipes, Laptop, iPhone

Yes, you read that right. A SP resident reported that an unknown suspect has been stealing copper pipes during his home renovation.

Theft

On May 24, a theft occurred at a Woodland Terris resindence. The resident stated that sometime over the last several days an unknown suspect(s) removed the copper pipes at the house he was renovating. The pipes were valued at approximately $1,000.

On May 23, a patron at a Lamberts Mill Road gym reported being a victim of a theft. The victim stated that sometime during the day unknown suspect(s) removed her lap top computer from her unlocked locker. The computer was valued at approximately $2,000.

On May 25, a patron at a Park Avenue restaurant reported a theft. The victim stated she had she left her iPhone on the table and when she returned it was missing. The phone was valued at approximately $500.

Harassment

On May 21, a Donsen Lane resident reported being a victim of harassment. The victim stated that she has been receiving numerous texts from a former friend.

On May 24, a Jerusalem Road resident reported being a victim of harassment. The victim stated that an individual that he has dealt with in the past has repeatedly made contact with him.

Criminal Mischief

On May 22, a Short Hills Lane resident reported an act of criminal mischief. The victim stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) damaged the front bay window of his house. 

Fraud

On May 24, a Jackson Avenue resident reported being victim of fraud.  The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) opened up a credit card without his authorization and made approximately $5,000 in unauthorized charges.

On May 24, a Redwood Road resident reported being a victim of Fraud. The victim stated that she received a call from her bank stating that an unknown suspect(s) attempted to open a credit card in her name without her authorization.

Arrests

Rashwan Gordan, 27, of Irvington, was arrested on May 26, for Possession of Marijuana.  Officer Mahoney stopped Gordon for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and observed marijuana within the vehicle. After further investigation, additional marijuana was discovered. Gordan was arrested and transported to headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail.    

Jason Paszkowski, 24, of Scotch Plains, was arrested on May 23, for a $300 outstanding warrant issued by the Springfield court. Officer Citarella stopped Paszkowski for a motor vehicle violation on Mountain Avenue and discovered the warrant.  Paszkowski was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.

Bianca Ramirez, 21, of Linden, was arrested on May 26, for a $2,360 outstanding warrant issued by the Linden court. Officer Everitt stopped Ramirez for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and discovered the warrant. Ramirez was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released.

Gustavo Gaitan, 22, of Plainfield, was arrested on May 26, for a $600 outstanding warrant issued by the Plainfield court. Officer Bruschetti stopped Gaitan for a motor vehicle violation on Terrill Road and discovered the warrant.  Bruschetti was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.

Gill Rodell, 36, of Plainfield, was arrested on May 26, for a $1,000 outstanding warrant issued by the Rahway court. Officer Redling stopped Rodell for a motor vehicle violation on Terrill Road and discovered the warrant.  Rodell was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.
