SP Police Reports: DWI, Disorderly Conduct Over Labor Day Weekend

Police activity from September 1 to 7.

Monday, September 1:

  • Edward Perez, 28, of Staten Island, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Perez was stopped for a motor vehicle violation when the officer discovered the warrant. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.

Tuesday, September 2:

  • A resident of Spruce Mill Lane reported being a victim of fraud. The woman stated that she lost her wallet at work, and that before she could cancel her cards, an unknown suspect used her debit card to purchase an airline ticket, valued at approximately $350.

Saturday, September 5:

  • A resident of Sky Top Road reported being a victim of theft. The woman stated that an unknown suspect stole her son's bicycle, valued at approximately $200.
  • Ryjon Burke, 36, of Scotch Plains, was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Police responded to Jackson Avenue on a report of a disturbance on the street. When they arrived, police found approximately 20 people yelling at each other. Burke was told to leave, but instead yelled obscenities at the police and challenged them to a fight. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.

Sunday, September 6:

  • Tyman Cobb, 28, of Plainfield, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Cobb was stopped for a motor vehicle violation when the officer smelled the odor of alcohol. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.
  • A resident of Kevin Road reported being a victim of harassment. The woman stated that her ex-boyfriend calls her repeatedly throughout the day and yells into the phone.

Monday, September 7:

  • James Parrish, 34, of Hamilton, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Parrish was stopped for a motor vehicle violation when the officer discovered the smell of alcohol. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.
