SP Police Reports: Officers Respond to Hit-and-Run Accident

Police activity from Sept. 15 to 19.

Scotch Plains police handled another hit-and-run accident this past week.

The department had reports of two such incidents at the beginning of the month. Last Wednesday, they had another as officers investigated a hit-and-run on Terrill Road. The victim stated that an unknown suspect struck his vehicle, which was legally parked, and caused damaged to the rear of his vehicle.

Aside from that, officers also recently received reports of a vehicle theft and fraud. Here's a full look at police activity from the past week.

Tuesday, Sept. 15:

  • Maclyse Brown, 21, of Plainfield, was arrested on an outstanding warrant after being stopped for a motor vehicle violation. Brown was then taken to police headquarters, and was then processed and released.
  • A resident of Bonus Hill Drive reported being a victim of theft. The man stated that an unknown suspect removed his vehicle, which was parked in his driveway.

Thursday, Sept. 17:

  • Khalique Weaver, 30, of Plainfield, was arrested on an outstanding warrant after being stopped for a motor vehicle violation. She was then transported to police headquarters, where she was processed and released.
  • Vladimir Volcin, 22, of Union, was arrested on an outstanding warrant after being stopped for a motor vehicle violation. He was then transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.

Saturday, Sept. 19:

  • Donald Patterson, 28, of Scotch Plains, was arrested for possession of marijuana. Patterson was stopped for a motor vehicle violation when the officer discovered the marijuana. He was then transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.
  • A resident of Allwood Road reported being a victim of fraud. The resident said that a person sent him a bad check after he sold a piece of furniture on the Internet.
  • A resident of E. Second Street reported being a victim of theft. He stated that an unknown suspect entered his vehicle and removed his backpack, which contained books and cash.
