SP Police Reports: Property Damage Reported Over Weekend

Here's an account of the police activity from July 16 to 18.

Scotch Plains police received two different reports of property damage over the weekend.

On Thursday, July 16, a resident on Tussel Lane reported being a victim of criminal mischief when she discovered that an unknown suspect had damaged her planter, which was valued at approximately $45.

The next day, police investigated a hit and run accident after a car, that was legally parked on Crestwood Road, was damaged. The victim told police that an unknown suspect struck his vehicle and caused damage to the rear of it.

Thursday, July 16:

  • Tereares Daniel, 21, of Plainfield, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Daniel was stopped for a motor vehicle violation when the officer discovered the warrant. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.
  • A resident on Tussel Lane reported being a victim of criminal mischief. She stated that an unknown suspect damaged her planter, which was valued at approximately $45.

Friday, July 17:

  • Police investigated a hit and run vehicle accident that occurred on Crestwood Road. The victim stated that an unknown suspect struck his vehicle, which was legally parked, and caused damage to the rear of it.
  • Ahmid Baqqi, 36, of Morrow, GA, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Baqqi was stopped on a motor vehicle violation when the officer discovered the warrant. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.
  • James Smith, 34, of Plainfield, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Smith was stopped on a motor vehicle violation when the officer discovered the warrant. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.

Saturday, July 18:

  • Kathy Ingraham, 46, of Scotch Plains, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Ingraham was stopped on a motor vehicle violation when the officer discovered the warrant. She was transported to police headquarters, where she was processed and released.
