SP Police Reports: Sept. 29 to Oct. 3

Disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and more were among the reports.

Scotch Plains police arrested a Plainfield man on Saturday, Oct. 3, for yelling obscenities and ripping up papers inside a Park Avenue bank.

Stanley Gumbs, 22, was arrested for disorderly conduct for his behavior. When police arrived on the scene, Gumbs refused to calm down and leave the lobby. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.

Tuesday, Sept. 29:

  • Emmanuel Geah, 34, of Orange, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Geah was stopped for a motor vehicle violation when the officer discovered the warrant. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.
  • A resident of Terrill Road reported being a victim of criminal mischief. The woman stated that an unknown suspect damaged her mailbox, valued at approximately $75.
  • Police investigated a hit-and-run vehicle accident on Martine Avenue. The victim stated that an unknown suspect struck his vehicle, which was legally parked, and caused damage to the rear of it.

Thursday, Oct. 1:

  • Peter Longson, 24, of Scotch Plains, was arrested on an outstanding warrant after being stopped for a motor vehicle violation. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.

Friday, Oct. 2:

  • Quyana Biggins, 27, of Roselle, was arrested on an outstanding warrant after being stopped for a motor vehicle violation. She was transported to police headquarters, where she was processed and released.

Saturday, Oct. 3:

  • Shuranda Spencer, 39, of Linden, was arrested on an outstanding warrant after being stopped for a motor vehicle violation. She was transported to police headquarters, where she was processed and released.
  • A resident of Hunter Avenue reported being a victim of theft. The man stated that he left his bicycle unlocked in front of a Park Avenue store and when he returned it was gone. The bike was valued at approximately $800.
