Summertime crime continued in Scotch Plains last week, with two local residents reporting they had items stolen from in or around their home.
On Wednesday, Aug. 12, a resident of Morse Avenue reported being a victim of theft. The man stated that an unknown suspect removed a television from his property. The TV was valued at approximately $1,500.
Then the next day on Thursday, Aug. 13, a resident of Hunter Avenue reported being a victim of burglary. The woman stated that an unknown suspect entered her vehicle, which was parked in her driveway, and removed a CD player. The CD player was valued at approximately $350.

Tuesday, August 11:
- Donald Horan, 58, of Westfield, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Horan was stopped for a motor vehicle violation when the officer discovered the warrant. Horan was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.
Wednesday, August 12:
- A resident of Hunter Avenue reported being a victim of harassment. The woman stated that her daughter's friend repeatedly rings the doorbell and runs away.
Thursday, August 13:
- Shannell Powell, 23, of Newark, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Powell was stopped for a motor vehicle violation when the officer discovered the warrant. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and released.
- A resident of Donato Circle reported being a victim of harassment. The woman stated that she has been receiving numerous calls on her cell phone from an unknown person.
Friday, August 14:
- Sharon Gallagher, 49, of Scotch Plains, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Gallagher was stopped on a motor vehicle violation when the officer discovered the warrant. She was transported to police headquarters, where she was processed and released.
- Caitlin Barolotta, 21, of Stirling, was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Barolotta was stopped on a motor vehicle violation when the officer discovered the warrant. She was transported to police headquarters, where she was processed and released.
Saturday, August 15:
- A business owner on Terrill Road reported being a victim of criminal mischief. The owner stated that an unknown suspect spray-painted his garbage dumpsters.
