SP Resident Charged with Assault of SP Police Officer
Ester Rodriquez has been charged with assaulting a Scotch Plains Police Officer after she resisted arrest outside her Martine Avenue home.
Ester Rodriquez, 21, of Scotch Plains, was arrested on May 14 for assaulting a Scotch Plains Police Officer.
Scotch Plains Police stated that Officer Rites responded to a disturbance call at the defendant’s Martine Avenue residence when the attack occurred.
“While Officer Rites was speaking with her, she tried to run away,” Scotch Plains Police Captain Brian Donnelly stated. “While Rodriquez was being placed under arrest, she struck Officer Rites several times.”

Rodriquez was arrested, charged with Assault of an Officer, processed at Scotch Plains police headquarters, and transported to Union County Court. Her bail has been set at $25,000 pending trial.

Theft
On May 16, a theft occurred at a Country Club Lane residence. The victim stated sometime during the last few weeks, unknown suspect(s) removed several personnel documents from her vehicle.

Fraud
On May 15, a Roberts Lane resident reported being a victim of fraud. The victim stated unknown suspect(s) made several purchases on her credit card without her authorization.
Arrests
Franklin Glasper, 20, of Plainfield, was arrested on May 17, for credit card fraud. Detective Hayeck was conducting an investigation in which an individual was using stolen credit cards at a local business when Glasper was named as a suspect in the case. Glasper was arrested, transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail.
Roman Buchak, 27, of Westfield, was arrested on May 14, for a $1,100 outstanding warrant issued by the Westfield court. Officer Ostrowski stopped Buchak for a motor vehicle violation on Martine Avenue and discovered the warrant. Buchak was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.
Tomas Guardado, 57, of Plainfield, was arrested on May 17, for a $600 outstanding warrant issued by the North Plainfield court. Officer Belford stopped Guardado for motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and discovered the warrant. Belford was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.
Antone Smith-Greene Jr., 23, of Piscataway, was arrested on May 17, for an $800 outstanding warrant issued by the Scotch Plains court. Officer Belford stopped Smith-Greene Jr. for a motor vehicle violation on Terrill Road and discovered the warrant. Smith-Greene Jr. was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.
Gregory O’Connor, 27, Metuchen, was arrested on May 17, for a $1,000 outstanding warrant issued by the Scotch Plains court. Officer Lewis stopped O’Connor for a motor vehicle violation on Rahway Road and discovered the warrant. Lewis was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.
Shellyann White, 35, of Plainfield, was arrested on May 17, for $300 outstanding warrant issued by the Bound Brook court. Officer Redling stopped White for a motor vehicle violation on Raritan Road and discovered the warrant. White was transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released.
