Scotch Plains Police tackle, stolen plants, arrest several on drug charges.

Theft

On April 9, a Morgan Way resident reported a theft. The victim stated that sometime during the day unknown suspect(s) removed several newly planted bushes valued at approximately $200 from her front yard.

On April 10, a theft occurred at Park Middle School. A student stated that sometime during the day unknown suspect(s) entered his locker.  Once inside the suspect(s) removed an iTouch valued at approximately $225.  Entrance was gained through the unlocked locker door.

On April 11, a Mountain Avenue resident reported a theft.  The victim stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) removed his solar powered lights, valued at $150 from the front of his house.

Fraud

On April 9, a Highlander Drive resident reported an act of fraud. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) attempted to open up a credit card without her authorization.

On April 10, an Ashbrook Drive resident reported an act of fraud. The victim stated that she hired a contractor to do work and paid him $4,500. She stated that the contractor has not done any work and his telephone number was disconnected.

On April 10, a West Court resident reported an act of fraud. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) opened up a credit card without her authorization.  The suspect then made approximately $280 in charges.

On April 11, a Valleyscent Avenue resident reported an act of fraud. The victim stated that an unknown suspect(s) made approximately $500 in purchases on her credit card without his authorization.

On April 12, a Canterbury Drive resident reported an act of fraud. The victim stated that he received a call from an individual who said he was from the bank and requested the victim’s social security number and date of birth.

Arrests

Joseph Pope, 23, of Iselin, was arrested on April 14, for possession of drug paraphernalia. Officer Luciano stopped Pope for a motor vehicle violation on Terrill Road and while speaking with him he observed the paraphernalia.  He was arrested, transported to police headquarters, processed and was released after posting bail. 

Daniel Bosse, 22, of South Plainfield, was arrested on April 14, for possession of marijuana. Officer Luciano stopped Bosse for a motor vehicle violation on Ravenswood Road and while speaking with him he observed the marijuana. After investigating further, additional marijuana was discovered.  Bosse was arrested, transported to police headquarters, processed and was released after posting bail.    

Rishi Jones, 36, of Plainfield, was arrested on April 12, for a $29,000 outstanding warrant issued by the Plainfield court. Officer Ostrowski stopped Jones for a motor vehicle violation on South Avenue and discovered the warrant.  Jones was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released to the Plainfield Police Department.

John Lukach, 27, of Green Brook, was arrested on April 14, for a $5,000 outstanding warrant issued by the North Plainfield court. Officer Belford stopped Lukach for a motor vehicle violation on Forest Road and discovered the warrant.  Lukach was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released to North Plainfield Police Department.

Jose Ocaso Jr., 20, of Plainfield, was arrested on April 14, for a $1,150 outstanding warrant issued by the Plainfield court. Officer Belford stopped Ocaso for a motor vehicle violation on East Second Street and discovered the warrant. Ocaso was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.
