SPPD Investigates Stolen Car Door, Vehicle Break Ins
SP Police responded to a report of a stolen car door this week. Police news also includes, marijuana charges, credit card fraud, and vehicle break ins.
Theft
On May 31, a theft occurred outside a Valley Avenue residence. The victim stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) removed the door from his Jeep vehicle. The door was valued at approximately $200.
On May 29, a theft occurred outside a Country Club Lane residence. The victim stated that sometime over the last several days an unknown suspect(s) stole the rear spare tire cover off her vehicle. The cover was valued at approximately $260.

On May 31, a theft occurred outside a Wood Road residence. The victim stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered his vehicle. Once inside the suspect(s) removed a laptop computer valued at approximately $800. Entrance was gained through an unlocked door.
Criminal Mischief

On May 29, a Concord Road resident reported an act of criminal mischief. The victim stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) damaged the side mirror to his vehicle while it was parked in his driveway.
Fraud
On May 28, a Ramapo Way resident reported being a victim of fraud. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) used her driver’s license to check into a hotel in Connecticut. She stated that her driver’s license was stolen from her vehicle last January while it was parked in another town.
On May 30, a Wilshire Run resident reported being a victim of fraud. The victim stated that he received a call from his credit card company that unknown suspect(s) made approximately $200 in purchases on his credit card without his authorization.
On May 29, a Spruce Mill Lane resident reported being victim of fraud. The victim stated that unknown suspect(s) opened up a credit card without his authorization and made approximately $2,500 in charges.
Arrests
Gary Jones, 27, of Plainfield, was arrested on June 2, for a $496 outstanding warrant issued by the Scotch Plains court. Officer Ostrowski stopped Jones for a motor vehicle violation on Park Avenue and discovered the warrant. Jones was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released.
Anthony Lymon, 24, of Irvington, was arrested on June 3, for possession of marijuana. Officer Everitt stopped Lymon for a motor vehicle violation on Route 22 and while speaking with him he observed the marijuana. Lymon was arrested and transported to headquarters where he was processed and released after posting bail.
