The Fanwood Blotter: Police Make Arrests for Marijuana, Active Warrants

Between 04/16/2013 @ 6:00 PM & 04/17/2013 @ 4:00 PM a resident in the 200 block of Second Street reported criminal mischief to his house. An unknown person wrote some words on the house. Police Department is investigating the incident.  

On 04/18/2013 @ 11:30 AM during a field investigation at 75 North Martine Ave. Officer made an arrest on an individual for an outstanding warrant out of Watchung. This person was processed, posted bail and released. The defendant is a Roseanne Gendron 38 year old female from Plainfield.  

On 04/18/2013 @ 6:01 PM Officer on routine patrol did a random license plate check which revealed the registered owner has an active warrant out of Plainfield. The Officer made a M.V. stop in the 300 block of Terrill Road. The Officer confirmed the registered owner was in the vehicle and she was arrested, processed and turned over to Plainfield P.D. Defendant is a Brittini Noel 24 year old female from Plainfield.  

On 04/19/2013 @ 4:23 PM Officer did a random license plate check and found the registered owner had an active warrant out of Little Falls. Officer made a M.V. stop @ Terrill Rd. & Alden Pl. to confirm the registered owner. The Officer confirmed the driver and he was arrested, processed, posted bail and released. Defendant is a Todd Sloan 49 year old male from Irvington.  

On 04/20/2013 @ 4:42 PM Officer responded to a house in the 10 block of Midway Ave. on a report that a house had an odor of marijuana coming from it. Upon Officers arrival they knocked on the door and when the door opened they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the inside. While the Officer was speaking with a juvenile, he did not comply with the Officers orders and resisted. The juvenile was placed under arrest. A second person adult was arrested for being under the influence of marijuana. Both parties were processed. The adult was issued a summons pending a court appearance. The juvenile was charged with being under the influence of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of CDS, resisting arrest, aggravated assault on a Police Officer, possession of drug paraphernalia. The juvenile (17 year old) was released to a parent and pending an appearance in Family Court. The adult defendant is a Kevin Canas 18 year old male from Fanwood.
