Up to Nine Inches of Snow Possible in Scotch Plains, Fanwood

County authorities advise that this is the beginning of a bitter cold weather pattern that could last the next 10 days.

The Union County area is expected to experience a total snowfall between 5-9 inches from Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning. 

According to a Union County advisory sent out via UC First Alert:

Snow should begin accumulating around noon tomorrow, according to advisories. Our area may see 2-4 inches during the day tomorrow, and another 3-5 inches tomorrow night.

County authorities advise that this is the beginning of a bitter cold weather pattern that could last the next 10 days. Tomorrow's high will be 21 degrees, with around 20 degrees expected in the morning. Wind chill factors will fall into the negative tomorrow night and Wednesday.

The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders urge you to please take the appropriate precautions and drive safely. Report any issues on municipal roads to the respective municipality. If there are any issues on County roads, please call County Police at 908-654-9800.
