Woman, 62, Robbed in CVS Parking Lot on Dec. 16

The following information was provided by the Scotch Plains Police Department.

On Sunday December 16, 2012 at approximately 4:45 p.m. the Scotch Plains Police received a call reporting a Robbery in the parking lot of the CVS Pharmacy located at 514 Park Ave. Scotch Plains. 

A 62 year old female from Union was walking in the parking lot when a male approached her and grabbed her pocketbook, the victim  refused to let go and the suspect dragged her 3 parking spaces before letting go.  He ran away without getting the pocketbook. 

The victim was treated for pain to her right side by JFK EMS at the scene, she refused to be transported to the Hospital.  After conducting an investigation and interviewing witnesses and the victim, the Scotch Plains police located the male a short time later. 

Allen Folkes Age. 45 of Park Avenue Scotch Plains NJ  was arrested without incident at his residence. He was transported to H.Q. where he was processed and charged with 2nd degree Robbery and 3rd degree Aggravated Assault.  Bail was set at $150,000.  He was transported to the Union County Jail.  His next court appearance has been set for December 19, 2012  in the Union County Superior Court.
