Bloomberg.com: N.J. Expected to Have $8 Billion Budget Deficit

The forecast predicts that the state will be $8 billion in debt next year, even after taking measures that tried to prevent it.

The nonpartisan Office of Legislative Services has predicted that New Jersey will face an $8 billion budget deficit next fiscal year.

This comes three weeks after Gov. Jon Corzine signed a $29 billion budget for fiscal 2010 that cut spending by $4 billion and raised taxes to close the gap.
