Brief: SP to Collect Storm-Damaged Items

Workers will pick-up household waste starting Saturday.

Scotch Plains will begin a special curbside collection of household waste damaged by Hurricane Irene beginning Saturday, according to a press release distributed by Township Manager Christopher Marion. Only non-hazardous, non-electronic items may be left for pickup.

To register for the collection, residents are asked to call the Department of Public Property Storm Hotline at 908-233-6707 and leave their street addresses at the prompt, Marion said. All items for disposal must be at the curb by no later than Friday. The township will be making one pass only.
