Fanwood Council Honors Edrington

Founder of Scotch Plains-Fanwood Patch receives an honorary resolution.

The Fanwood Borough Council presented Patch.com local editor Lindsay Wilkes-Edrington a resolution signed by Mayor Colleen Mahr on Monday. The resolution recognized Edrington for launching Patch.com's Scotch Plains-Fanwood website.

Last week, Edrington left the site she established here in June 2009 to accept a promotion and transfer to Rhode Island, where she will launch a new Patch site.

The Council's resolution, which Mayor Mahr read into the minutes, acknowledged Edrington's accomplishments in having provided "comprehensive and trusted local municipal news coverage," which exemplified Patch's motto, "No matter what's going on we've got you covered."

The resolution further thanked Edrington for enriching the lives of Fanwood's citizens and "reporting Fanwood's news in a professional and dedicated manner."

This reporter was pleased to accept the award on Edrington's behalf.
