Fanwood Democratic Council Candidates Reception Hosted by Residents

Mitchell is seeking an unprecedented sixth term as a council member, while Kranz is a first-time candidate.

Fanwood Democratic council candidates Kathy Mitchell and Tom Kranz met with residents at a July reception at the home of third district residents Mike and Denise Klouda. 

Mitchell, a 50-year resident of Fanwood and a retired nurse, is currently serving her 15th year as a member of the Borough Council.  She is currently Fanwood Police Commissioner and head of Public Safety. Her public service includes serving on the board of the Fanwood Memorial Library and council liaison to the Shade Tree Commission, Senior Citizens Club and the Cultural Arts Commission.

Kranz is Director of Communications at Chelsea Senior Living at their corporate headquarters in Fanwood.  He has been a volunteer EMT with the Fanwood Rescue Squad for fourteen years, answering more than 2,000 calls for service in Fanwood and surrounding communities. He has taught CPR and first aid to several hundred people in our community and was a member of the Emergency Management team that steered Fanwood through Hurricane Sandy and its aftermath.

Mitchell is seeking an unprecedented sixth term as a council member. Kranz is a first-time candidate running for the council seat currently held by Anthony Parenti who is not running for re-election. They will face of against candidate Jean Michelle Moore (Regular Organization Republican of Union County) in November.
