Fanwood to Hold Special Meeting on Consolidation

Fanwood will hold a special public meeting at Forest Road Park on Tuesday evening.


The following information was provided by the Borough of Fanwood.

The Mayor and Council of the Borough of Fanwood are holding a Special Meeting for the Fanwood Community on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at the Forest Road Park Building, Forest Road off Midway Avenue, at 7:30 pm.

The meeting is being held to discuss the formation of a Consolidation Commission, to study the consolidation of the Township of Scotch Plains and the Borough of  Fanwood,  recently approved by the State of New Jersey Local Finance Board based upon an application submitted by Courage to Reconnect, an independent group. The meeting will outline the history of the effort by Courage to Reconnect to bring this consolidation study to Fanwood ; the Borough’s participation in its process; outline the next steps to be taken; and discuss its effect on the Borough of Fanwood and its future.

 We urge all members of the public to make every effort to attend this meeting to assure that the entire Fanwood community is aware of this project.  If you have questions, please contact Borough Hall at 908 322 8236.

There will be a portion of the meeting open to the public for your comments, concerns and recommendations.

Barring the unforeseen and unforeseeable, I will be there and would dearly love to see the four Fanwood signatories to the original application who did not attend any of the public meetings over the summer, including the last when Mr. Lange requested their attendance.

I agree with Mr Lewis, the four petitioners who never attended any of the public hearings should make a point to attend this meeting.

Will pitchforks and torches be provided for residents who don't have their own? Take good notes, Michael; I'll be lost in the hallways of SPFHS for back to school night.
