FW Planning Board Brief: Board Approves Three Variances and Master Plan Reexamination

Notes from the Board's monthly meeting Monday night.

The Fanwood Borough Planning Board approved variances for three homes at its monthly meeting Monday night at Borough Hall. It also approved a resolution to appoint T&M Associates as the planner for the borough's Master Plan reexamination.

The Board unanimously passed residents' applications to install a covered entranceway for a house in the 100-block of Second Street, a wooden deck for a house in the 100-block of Farley Avenue, and a stone patio for a house in the 300-block of North Avenue. The applications passed with no objections from any of the borough's emergency or public works departments.

T&M Associates, an engineering, planning and environmental consulting firm based in Middletown, will prepare the borough's reexamination of its Master Plan. The plan includes the borough's goals for development, housing and public works projects. The borough must review the plan every 10 years. The cost for the preparation and review this year will be $9,000, an amount that has already been budgeted, Planning Board secretary Pat Hoynes said at the meeting.
