Marks and Vastine Announce July 4 Event in Scotch Plains

The two Republican assembly candidates will read the Declaration of Independence at Brookside Park.

Former Scotch Plains Mayor Martin Marks and William "Bo" Vastine, both Republican candidates for the New Jersey General Assembly in District 22, have announced that they will host a Community Reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 4 in Brookside Park.

The event will be followed by a picnic barbeque. Admission is $40 for adults and $20 for children under 16.

Mark's campaign Web site says that the event is not a campaign fundraiser, but that the admission just covers the cost of the event.
