PolitickerNJ: Former SP Mayor Marks Considers Assembly Race

Former mayor looking at redistricting before making decision.

Former Scotch Plains Mayor Martin Marks said he will make a final decision on whether to seek a seat in the State Legislature after redistricting is completed. Marks, a Republican who narrowly lost an Assembly race to Assemblymembers Linda Stender (D-Fanwood) and Jerry Green (D-Plainfield) in 2009, said he will not make a final decision until after new districts are announced. The state redistricting commission needs to finalize lines by April. Marks lost a race for the state Senate to Sen. Nick Scutari (D-Linden).
